I made this post because I have been looking on Ebay for a PS3. Which is hard as hell to do when a good 78.4% of the PS3's being sold have some form of defect to them.

Anyways looking through tons of pages for a good deal it hit me. No way in hell the failure rate of the PS3 is as low as the fanbitches & Sony make it out to be. It has to be way higher. Out of 6 of my friends that owned a PS3, myself included none of them have the original they purchased. Why? Because they all died the same two ways. Either a disc reading failure or the YLOD.

The only real ammo a Playslave has on the 360 is the RROD. Yet they seem to forget when our systems break we get them fixed for free. They like to say Microsoft rips us off with monthly/yearly online fees
(WHICH ARE TOTALLY VOLUNTARILY & NOT A MUST TO HAVE), but then they turn around & give Sony $160. Because Sony made a faulty console, and says fuck our consumers.

I was just wondering do you guys think Sony's failure rate is bullshit? Since 2006 I've seen alot of broken PS3's being returned to Best Buy, and alot repaired. Honestly have seen more PS3's returned for Blu-Ray Failure then I've seen XBOX 360's.

you are not the first to say sony is messing with thier numbers but i think you are on to something there. maybe if someone is smart enough they could catch them out but idk how lol

For both 360 and PS3, if you keep the systems well ventilated you shouldn't have any issues. Sometimes it's the hardware itself that is messed up, sometimes it's the owners fault. Also I heard that firmware update 2.4 messed up a lot of 40GB PS3s.

I think that it could have spiked recently. U never know if a company is truley lieing or not, just like comparison comericals LOL

Yes, I personally think that the number is BS. Just look around and see how many dead Ps3 consoles there are. Youtube, google, whatever.
Obviously Ps3 slaves will NEVER admit to their precious god breaking, never.

My 360 has been running for over 3 Years now. The only problem I had is with the drive not reading at times but now I can just install the games on my new 120Gb HDD so no problem. I would be pretty pissed if my 360 did break but I can fix it myself in a day. Pffft, big deal.

I put it in a huge open ventilated space, clean out dust every now and then, maintenance the thing even. I play the thing for 6 hours straight in South African heat (often above 100 degrees F, 40 Celcius) for 6 hours at a time.

Funny how the supposed failure rate went from 0.2% to 10.6% so drastically...... yeah Sony, yeah......

This coming from the company that lists "units shipped" as "units sold" nuff said.

Yeah I reckon it's higher than they claim. Maybe as high as rrod. I dunno but recently I've seen them "dropping like flies".
