Subject: Your Thoughts on the iPad! Thu Jan 28, 2010 7:57 am
I think it looks cool, but apparently it is a tablet computer that functions like an iPhone. It can also play iPhone/iPod Touch games.... how that would work effectively I do not understand. The one major draw for this though, or most people, is it is an Apple product. Me I would kinda prefer a Windows 7 Tablet... but whatever. What do you think about this piece of technology?

Its Great but I think you'd look a tad strange playing games that rely on the accelerometer.
Plus pricing is a bit of an issue anywhere from $500-$829

Why would anyone want a giant iPhone? It's not a real computer.
You can get a netbook for a fraction of the cost of an iPad and it will have way more memory and all the functionality of a full sized laptop. Seriously, if you already have a smartphone or even an iPhone you can already do everything the iPad does and it fits in your pocket. The iPad is redundant, expensive, can only run iPhone apps, doesn't work as a phone, and is too big to fit in your pocket. With a netbook you can at least close it and safely throw it in your bag, but the iPad doesn't have that kind of protection.

I agree. Or how about a Windows 7 Tablet. I recommended to the principal in our school to instead of using these iPads (schools might get them I guess, not confirmed but is likely) to get Windows 7 Tablets. Lol.

STUPID! Just when you think Apple couldn't get any more lame with their product names, along comes the iPad. Just a fail like the naming for the Playstation consoles. If sony can survive for another 10 years, we will have the Playstation 6. YAAAAY!

It doesn't even have flash support so it's pretty much an iPod Touch XL. Hardly a "computer" tablet.

Agreed. If I wanted an iPod Touch. I would get... you know... an iPod Touch, maybe eventually though. Also the fact that most of the apps on the iPad are also on the Touch make it pointless now. It looks cool, but it is an iPod Touch, so I would just get that.

Although I have got to say, at first it might seem overpriced but it isn't. Its main competitor is the Kindle DX, which is $450 and For an extra $50 you get a Color Screen, 1GHz Processor, 16GB Built in Memory, and one of the best Media Experiences

Though you could get a slate PC with Windows 7 for that price... maybe a bit more but still. The iPad is an iPod Touch/iPhone just bigger.
