500k units week 1............
Not bad for a game..............but a terrible flop for a highly anticipated/highly hyped PS3 EXCLUSIVE. _________________ It is more then possible to combine fanboyism with logic and reason. Smells like the screaming of people renting their games (like Truthsettingufree) instead of buying them. It also sounds like people are buying Bluray movies instead of games, huh? Seriously though this is not bad sales for a game. But its not excellent. |

| Lol I agree with kendo. I guess the genre of game is kinda unpopular though, that may have had an effect. |

| This is true but if you look t sales figures for most PS3 exclusives 500K units in the first week is pretty good, I think some people have waited for feedback first as it is not a normal genre of games. |

I guess PS3 fanboys are like Steve Jobs, there not gamers, or most of them arent. As DarthQball said, he bought it for a Bluray player. |

It ain't good if you compare it to the 360 exclusives. ODST sold 2 million in 24 hours._________________ Live by the Creed |

True but you are talking about an already well known IP, where Heavy Rain is a total new IP and in many way considered a new genre so it would be unfair to compare its sales to this established and very popular IP and genre.
But it does puzzle me that so many fanboys hype all these exclusives and don't buy them it is a joke, I am no fanboy of any console but properly own 90% of the Exclusives on the PS3.
I am also sure that there was a fair percentage of them 500K sales that where purchased by people who are not fanboys but just own a PS3, me included with a few others on this site. |

With you been a fellow Brit you must of noticed all the shops over here have been sold out of that game since release. The UK has gone mental over this game for some reason? Two of my mates who are PS3 users have been trying to pick up a copy since release to no avail.
However it seems the hype for the game in the UK hasn't been repeated anywhere else in the world so thats always good news. |

Fair enough, Halo is an established IP. But the PS3 also has exclusive, established IP's which haven't sold very well during launch week. Uncharted 2 comes to mind._________________ Live by the Creed |

| Killzone 2 only selling 2 million copies is one of the most embarassing cases of them not buying games. On another note, Mass Effect 2 is at 1.5 million, a very healthy number......currently more then MAG and Heavy Rain combined _________________ It is more then possible to combine fanboyism with logic and reason.
