Genre: Action, Stealth, Beat-em-up
Length: ~10 hours for the story.
Story(this may contain spoilers):
The game begins with Batman taking Joker to Arkham. Batman senses something is wrong because a fire in Blackgate Prison forced hundreds of Jokers minions to be transferred to Arkham, Joker also gave little to no fight when Batman captured him.
It turns out Batman's horrors were true because Harley Quinn(a sexy nurse that was secretly helping Joker) locked Batman out of Asylum and let Joker and his minions free so they could take control of Arkham.
The story has a lot of dark comedy in it, and keeps a much darker tone unlike the old Adam West movie.
Original Batman movie:

Batman: Arkham Asylum:

The story has many points that will make you wonder who's on your side. For example, Batman first thinks that this was an overdone escape attempt, but he later learns that Joker went to Arkham to get revenge on a doctor that refused to make him an army of minions similer to Bane. I won't spoil anymore if you haven't played the game. Just know that it will get very intense at times
Bane:

Villians:
Joker
Zsasz
Harly Quinn
Scarecrow
Scarface(small scene near end, don't fight)
Killer Croc
Bane
Clayface(see but don't fight)
Riddler(communicates to you throughout the game)
Gameplay: The game has solid controls but they can get sluggish at times. The controls are basic for a beat-em-up. Square / X is attack, Triangle / Y is counter, and Circle / B is stun. It can get VERY repetitive at times, but Rocksteady did a very good job of provinding upgrades that'll improve your combat skills, such as being able throw an enemy(X + Square or A + X), Breaking an enemy's arm or leg(Triangle + Square or Y + B), or throwing a batarang in the middle of a combo.
The game also has combat that has you hiding on top of gargoyles and taking out minions with MGs and Shotguns, one at a time. This can be very cool if its just you in one minion left, and you just mess with his mind. Its not cool if that minion is trigger happy and shoots you when your sneaking up on him.
Gadgets:
Batarang
Sonic Batarang
Line Launcher
Security Hacker(forgot real name)
Batclaw(upgrades to ultra-batclaw which can fire 3 batclaws at once)
Remote Controlled Batarang
Explosive Spray
Duel Batarangs(upgrades to Triple Batarangs)
Visuals and Audio: The graphics are great no matter which system your playing it on, and the voice acting is great especially from Mark Hamill who plays the Joker. This game would be one of the biggest visual and audio delights I've seen this generation but that won't happen. The lip syncing is god awful. It makes JRPG lip syncing look like the best in the business. The side characters like Cash, Gordan, Sharp, and even Batman himself seem like imported actors.
Bonuses: on top of the main story, there are 240 riddler trophies scattered throughout the map that you can get by freeroaming. The game also has 8 combat challenges, and 8 stealth challenges. Both challenge modes are great, and have a lot of replay value because the scores/times of the challenges are recorded onto PSN and XBL. Can you make it to the top?
PS3 VS 360 versions: The PS3 version comes with about 10 Joker Challenge maps that are quite different than the Batman challenges. Joker uses a gun, Xray glasses, Joker Teeth(They're bombs unlike in the story), and Joker Toxin. He also fights in a different style than batman, instead of breaking an arm, Joker will Jump onto the guy and keep punching the guy in the face until the guys passes out. He'll also electrify enemies with this "Joy" Buzzer. The Porting Rocksteady did was top notch and you can barely tell a difference between the 2 versions.

Story: GREAT!!!!
Gameplay: Average
Visuals: Good
Audio: Great
Lips syncing: The lips synced???
Final Score:
PS3: 9.3
360: 9.1
