It was six years in development, yes. No, it didn't have constantly cancelled release dates. I believe it was delayed once. Demo after demo is pretty good. It keeps you updated on how the game is. However, GT5P isn't really a demo. The upscaled PS2 cars still look great. The scenery doesn't look bad, but yes, Forza does it better. The car damage is so-so. Some screenshots are good, some are bad. The loading times are fairly short for a game of such graphical prowess. As for other people complaining, they're probably as delusional as you are.

You don't have "the balls to see these problems". Half of the one you mentioned are nonexistent, and the rest you are nitpicking. Don't be such a graphics whore. This game WILL be the definitive sim racer of this generation.

Why would development time dissuade you from playing a game? You must have avoided Alan Wake like the plaque.

Perhaps but there was very little of Alan Wake. People just assumed it was cancelled for most of those years.
GT5 has been hyped to no end from the moment people got bored of GT4 and it still is today.

Imagine waiting that long for a game. If it wasn't perfect I'd be so disappointed. And tbh if 80% of the vehicles are just upscaled version from a game which I already own (which I dont, Im looking at it from a fan's perspective) then I'd be like "WTF" and if some aspects of the graphics look like they came straight out of a ps1 game, and if the damage looked like plastacine, I'd be really pissed off.

Loads of fans have given up hope. Tbh if I were a racing fan, which I'm not exactly, I'd be way happier with a 360.
Race Pro, Crash Time, Indianopolis, Forza, Project Gotham Racing, etc
Then there are all the multiplats on top of that.

lol yeah...my friend is kinda the same. He loved the GT games, and he loved GT Prologue and really wanted to get GT5. Well now he just wants to sell his ps3 and get a 360 to play Forza.

It's funny that you guys think everyone who buy racing sims are buying it for pretty graphics and cars that look nice and damage that is suppose to look so real. It's a racing sim. You buy it to see what a car would feel like if you were really driving it. Forza didn't live up to expectation because the tunning for cars were off and it was just plain frustrating. The gear shifts were off and it would make me mad. I like GT5 because they are putting the head tracking and weather effects and night time racing that has not been put into a racing sim since god knows when. I understand that you want the playstation to fail and that is cool and all. But Gran Turismo will not fail simply because the time was put into getting the cars to look and feel right. And the 800 upscaled cars is awesome. I don't know what the bitching is about? Are you mad because you are not going to get every stitch on the leather seats? Have you seen the upscaled cars to even bitch about them not looking good? Please explain. Plain and simple is that you don't play racing sims and you are just here to say you want this game to fail. I understand that.

1- im not a fanboy i have owned countless consoles Ohhh yea, because that's the meaning of a fanboy. One that only owns one console.
2- im not slaging off gt as a whole i have owned 2 3 and 4 If someone starts praising GT4 you would have started bashing it as well saying how (insert game here) is/was better. 3- i was going to buy a ps3 just for gt5
4- im not ignorant you are ignorant of the facts, which are:- You're not stating facts, just unsupported opinions. Something I like to call a "shit" opinion.
5- 6 years in development Oh!! So don't you see a trend here Mr. Raspy. The best games that truely stand out sometimes take 3,4,5, or even 6 years to make! Including Reach, Alan Wake, GOW3. So your statement is IRRELEVANT.
6- cancelled release dates again and again
7- demo after demo (which is not good when you want the full game) 1 half priced Prologue with more content than the average racing game and one Time Trial demo which the intention of it was for a contest.
8- 800 upscalled ps2 cars And 200 premium cars which look 2 generations ahead of all of the racing games.
9- poor scenery with flat trees and spectartors Trees aren't FLAT. Neither are the Spectators, they just don't look HYPER-REALISTIC like the rest of the game does.
10- poor graphics for car damage Car damage looks fine for a sim.
11- from videos ive seen long loading times Most if not all racing games have huge load times since the track has to be fully rendered.
12- forums i have been on with countless fans saying they have given up on this game
13- i have the balls to see these problems and suck in my pride and say no thanks to gt5, if you are happy to except all of this then be my guest and get it, i really hope you enjoy it Smile - LOL

Maybe in the Prologue. But did you actually watch a gameplay video of GT5 where the car was going very slow the camera was trying to focused on the scenary?

The trees are the stupidest things on earth to complain about. Every game has some graphical uglies. Even the best looking games like UC2, Alan Wake, GOW3, Gears...whatever have some flat low quality textures...It's just EXPECTED from this generation of consoles to have SOME blemishes in the graphics. Still though, Polyphony makes the the other developers look like they weren't even trying.

Exactly. Of course they're going to spend less time on the environments than they are on the car models. If you honestly are able to perfectly see the scenery, then you suck ass at racing games, period. The only thing you can really see well is your car and other cars, and they look one grade short of real.

Yeah, I see what youre saying. I was really pissed when Nintendo pushed back Twilight Princess a whole year so it could be a Wii launch title. And they didnt even add anything to it over the gamecube version. But, as mad as I was, I still bought it and enjoyed it.
